New Year's Eve.

I am having a small Hors d'oeuvres (hardest word to spell in the whole world!!!) party on New Year's Eve for a few of my nearest and dearests. Mat and Jacob of course! And Liam and a friend of his will be stopping through for a few days on the trek to Wyoming for school! What I would like a few suggestions! Kate? Angela? Mom? I would like to do something different then the normal dips etc. Something that might take some skill, but nothing too hard for my baby kitchen and small inventory can't handle! There will only be 5 of us.. but we like to eat.

  1. LeeLee,
Some easy stand ins that I always use:
    Hummus and crackers
    Assorted cheeses and grapes
    Chex Party Mix
Cuties-mandarin oranges, easy peel and tasty!
    Pistachios, Cashews, etc.
Veggie and cheese Quiche-either in a pie pan or in a muffin tin, mini quiche, can eat it hot or cold
That's all I got, hope it helps! Have fun, Happy New Year!
    Love you,
    A

  3. 1. SPANIKOPITA!
    2. Shrimp cocktail - give each person a shot glass with cocktail sauce in it and line the glass with 2-3 shrimp hanging over the edge. You can buy the shrimp ready to go in the freezer, just run cold water over it and it's done!
    3. Mini roasted potato wedges.
    4. Olives! Need I say more?
    5. Mini pizzas, sliced into 1-2 bite pieces - you can make these with premade dough.
    6. Quesadilla slices (simple).
    7. Asaparagus wrapped with filo and parmesan and bake - unroll filo, drizzle with olive oil sprinkle with cheese, roll up asparagus in it, like a joint and bake until browned (dont burn the asapargus!)
    8. Skinny baguette sliced, top with fresh mozzerella, one basil left and a roma tomato slice - drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper.
    9. Veggie Gyoza (TJ's)
    10. Fried Raviloi with marinara sauce to dip into. Take fresh ravioli (from the fridge section) and fry in a skillet coated with oil until golden brown - place on papertowel to absorb any extra oil and serve with marinara sauce.
Let me know if you need more.
    Love you!
    Sister Kate

    PS - take photos!
